Another special award we decided to give out was to Devon band Mad Hatter 2.0 for their outstanding contribution to music.
This award was to show recognition to all the hard work that Marc and the lads have given throughout their music career. The band, who travel all over the UK to play alongside bands small and large do so for something that is very unique “the love of the music!”.
Mad Hatter 2.0 were one of the first unsigned bands to ever be featured on Total Biker FM and they set the benchmark for all bands from that day forward. We have seen them go from strength to strength over the past 1 1/2 years during the time we have been playing their music.
From the early days of the haunting sounds of Spellbound, to the new and energetic songs such as E.M.T and Save Me the band have shown that their talent has no boundaries and for that, we salute them. Read more…
After all the awards were given out, we at Total Biker FM felt it needed to be pointed out, a couple of special recognition awards. The first one goes out to Maldon band Doll Set Tones for their very emotional song Coming Home which was released to raise some money for two outstanding charities – Cancer Research UK and Macmillan Cancer Support.
Coming Home is an emotionally charged song with heartfelt lyrics, here is a statement from Lee Probert about the song he wrote in memory of his mum Kay who lost her fight to cancer.
“I wrote two songs on our last album ‘Melophobia’ that were about coming to terms with losing someone you love. In my case, it was my mum Kay. For me, song writing is a little like crying, it’s an emotional release to help you overcome or understand a situation, other times it’s an outpouring of joy, or more strangely it can be about something that’s yet to take place: a ‘premonition’.
The two songs I wrote were ‘Incapable Hands’ to give me strength while my mum was fighting her illness, and then ‘Coming Home’ was written as an expression of my grief, but in a positive and spiritual way. The latter song we all decided to release as a charity single to raise awareness and to hopefully help other people cope with coming to terms with this unforgiving disease.
This song is intended to hold your hand and comfort the families and friends affected by cancer everywhere. Rise up, be truthful and keep shining!” Read more…
Well this has to be the crème de la crème of awards and there is no one more deserving of this award than the amazing DJ Crazy Bitch.
Carla has been with Total Biker FM since the early days of 2010 and has stuck with the station through the bad times as well as the good times.
With all her hard work she has stuck with the station through good times and bad times in her own personal life and still battled on to give the listeners what they want to hear… a happy bitch!
Crazy Bitch, as she is known to the listeners is a Glasgow girl who takes no prisoners when it comes to what she does best… play the music. Her extensive knowledge of bands and the music world is what attracted Total Biker FM to take her on board and we have been very proud of what her shows bring to the station.
Crazy’s Sunday night show is one of the most demanding shows on Total Biker FM. For 3 hours she hosts a show called “Under The Covers” where she plays some well known and some very unique and rare cover songs ranging across the punk, rock and metal spectrum.
We all love Crazy Bitch’s personality and determination to succeed and that is one of the reasons she has won the award of DJ of the Year 2011.
With the ever popular shows that Carla has brought to the listeners throughout 2011 she was then approached by a new music event called Mayhem Underground in the very busy club in Glasgow called Pivo Pivo. Carla now hosts the show and helps to highlight the talent of unsigned bands from around the Glasgow area every Thursday night. This is one of the reasons that Scotland won the 4 Nations of Rock Award too!
We also have to highlight how much Carla does to help the station as a whole. If a DJ cannot do a show for what ever reason, the first person who claims the show is Carla! When ever we need help behind the scenes talking to bands, promoters, staff etc Carla is there. She has had some bad times in 2011 and said herself quite recently that Total Biker FM is like a second family to her and she feels that TBFM listeners and staff are a form of therapy to her.
We salute and congratulate the 2011 DJ of the Year… CRAZY BITCH!
Catch Crazy Bitch on air Tuesdays & Wednesdays 9pm-12am and Sundays 7pm-10pm. Also check the links for her on Facebook and direct website too:

Now for the all important awards for the people behind the station. It feels harsh to single out one show over any other as it is the whole team that makes the station work. But, one show just about shouts encore above any other show and for this, it needed to be recognised.
The Time Machine is presented by our only American DJ BV Bill from Texas. Bill came to Total Biker FM around August in 2011 and promised to bring something a little different to the station and he was not wrong!
Taking the slower afternoon spot during the week to try and build up our daytime listener trade, BV Bill introduced The Time Machine, a show bringing 3 hours of music from years gone by. Mainly playing good ol’ rock n roll from the 60′s and 70′s the show became an instant hit with listeners young and old with fans as young as 13 listening in to hear Bill’s choice of songs.
Bill is well known for bringing full and uninterrupted classic tracks that can last over 10 minutes on a regular basis that main stream radio stations wouldn’t even contemplate playing ever! His shows have become so popular that people have changed their lunchtimes to fit in with his shows which go out 2-5pm UK time but in the USA it is generally around 8am.
In November 2011, BV Bill played an amazing show that was totally unplanned but loved by the listeners. He played the full War of the Worlds soundtrack and it went down so well that it was requested to be replayed at the end of the year which Bill happily did once again.
Bill has been a breath of fresh air for many of our listeners new and old wanting to finish their working day with some good old music which they would normally never ask for.
So a big congratulations to BV Bill and his Time Machine. Long may it travel around the station!

This is the most prestigious award that we could give out. The best song of 2011 has been given to Trucker Diablo from Northern Ireland for their fantastic song Drink Beer, Destroy which has become a Friday afternoon anthem on Total Biker FM!
Trucker Diablo, who also bagged the award for best male fronted band were delighted to add this award to their CV as they head into 2012 with so much potential.
The video has recently been released for the song and had over 5,000 views on Youtube in the first 4 weeks of release.
Drink Beer, Destroy is a party anthem song that has now been featured on many stations around the world as well as on Scuzz and Kerrang TV. It has a very good chance to become a massive UK hit as it can hit the commercial stations without the band selling out.
This award for the band is just one of many awards and amazing reviews from all of the music press around the UK and internationally. The song also made it to number 43 in the top 100 songs of all time as voted for by the Total Biker FM listeners, beating classic tracks such as Kashmir, Holy Diver, Born to be Wild, Fear of the Dark and ACDC’s Its a long way to the top! This was quite a good category as this one is voted for without the listeners even realising! We counted the votes to this award by checking through the last 12 months stats on our servers to see which songs we requested the most.
The winner was Hey Little Piggy by Brighton band World Secret which is a very quirky little number with a biker theme to it. The song has some catchy lyrics as well as a great beat to it.
World Secret is an English Progressive Rock/Post Punk band from the city of Brighton. Originally called White Russia, they played the UK live circuit between 1989 and 1992. They reformed in 2005 as World Secret.
World Secret is Perrie Walder on lead vocals & keyboards and Garry Cox on keyboards, and occasional guitar, bass and backing vocals. They record, write, mix and produce their own (original as possible) tracks in a small but well equipped studio. They have accumulated a wealth of talent for the album including Soul/Jazz singer Joanne Arrowsmith, Bass guitarist Dave Barnard who has played with Massive Attack, Terry Callier and the Steve Ellis Love affair. And vocalist Rik Potter, who has sessioned for Frankie goes to Hollywood and Space Monkey. Read more…
This is a very unusual category as the bands are promoted for playing their own music on Total Biker FM but every now and then you hear a cover song that you feel deserves recognition.
After already bagging the award for best live performance, Kyrbgrinder pick up the award for best cover song with their version of Nirvana’s Heart Shaped Box.
This category was judged by the queen of covers and DJ of the Year, Crazy Bitch due to her amazing weekly show Under the covers where she plays 3 hours of cover songs from all sorts of bands.
Talking to band manager Nick Preece it was quite odd to hear him say that the song was never played live due to the fact the band didn’t feel it was good enough. Obviously, Total Biker FM thought so as they awarded them with this fantastic title.
Lets hope to see them play it live during 2012!

There has been some fantastic new bands come to Total Biker FM during the year and many new albums being released. To be honest, it was very hard to just have 4 albums in this category!
The award for best album of 2011 went to Pat Savage for his album Wind & Fire. The album was featured on Total Biker FM during a 5 day series and one of the tracks “El Diablo” was also nominated for most requested song of the year.
Here is a snippet of the album review by Jon Seymour:
“There are many different styles of music on this album, from kick ass rock, to pure delta blues, and good old rock n roll. This album has something for just about everyone, and it’s all executed with just the right amount of attitude. Pat’s vocals are as gravelly as the asphalt that he rides on, and it gives the songs a harder edge to them. Listening to it gives you the feeling of riding pillion as Pat takes you on a musical journey aboard his beloved Harley Davidson.” Read more…
We decided as we were rewarding a band with International Band of the year we had to offer something for the home nations too.
We looked at all four nations to try and decide where the best talent was currently coming from but it had to go to Scotland for the amount of amazing talent that has come to us throughout the year.
With bands such as Mair, Girobabies, Diementia, 15 Times Dead, Martins Room and many more, the rock, punk and metal scene in Scotland is booming and therefore very worthy of the award.
With one of our top DJ’s the Crazy Bitch and newcomer to Total Biker FM The Kilted Headbanger flying the flag for Scotland, we expect to hear even more from the Scottish music scene in 2012.
Well, as Total Biker FM is an international radio station, it was only right to include a category for International Band of the Year. With bands from all corners of the globe to choose from, the debate for the nominations was a hard fought one.
The winner of this category went to Finland’s finest Wankers of the Zoo Crew. Only introduced to the listeners of TBFM in 2011, they have quickly become a favourite with one song in particular called GATECRASHER.
WANKERS OF THE ZOO CREW is a rock group, founded in Helsinki, Finland early 2006. This handsome fivesome strive to create seemingly individual English rock music nonetheless coated with commercial seasoning in the spirit of FAITH NO MORE, SOAD and QUEEN, just to mention a few.
Bands in this category:
Wankers of the Zoo Crew (Finland)
Valgard (Belgium)
Back From Ashes (USA)
Monstertone (Netherlands)
Pat Savage (Canada)
